Team and Position Summary:



iAnalytics : This is the team which delivers analysis and machine learning solutions for the inventory domain in Walmart. The team is responsible for architecture, design and delivery of systems that make up the Data Science pipeline in item inventory.



We are a team of highly experienced Data Scientists and Data Engineers who are actively working on the cutting edge machine learning tools to develop Al/ML solutions. We get to interact with multiple teams across the company to provide scalable robust technical solutions.



Position Responsibilities:


  • Understand the data sources in Walmart.

  • Sample-extract-clean-transform data, detect outliers. Simply build efficient feature extraction, training and prediction pipelines.

  • Develop machine learning models for the business use cases in Walmart. This will include various ML models spanning both supervised and unsupervised learning.

  • Designing and developing MLOps for machine learning and deep learning systems.

  • Write functions for statistical analysis of data.

  • Build compelling data visualisations and interactive dashboards for monitoring and sharing of business KPIs and data insights.

  • Convert developed models to deployable artefacts.

  • Conduct experiments to improve deployed models.

  • Provide innovative solutions to the business problems, and drive patents and publications on this work, popularise the work by demonstrations and blogs.

  • Read and replicate latest research with an eye towards applying it to problems in Walmart

  • Work in an agile environment to deliver high quality solutions, with globally distributed and remote teams

  • Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission and uphold the values and standards of ethics and integrity

Position Requirements:



Minimum qualifications:



  • Should have strong computer science fundamentals in data structures and algorithms, object oriented programming

  • Knowledge of the foundations of machine learning and statistics

  • A continuous drive to explore, improve, enhance, automate and optimise systems and tools.

  • Exposure to cloud infrastructure, such as Azure, GCP.

  • Experience in building of large scale data pipelines using big data technologies (i. e. Spark/Kafka/Hadoop/Hive/Airflow)

  • Strong software development skills in languages such as Python or Scala.

  • Exposure to open source ML frameworks like scikit learn, keras, SparkML lib, etc.

  • Experience in building of large scale data pipelines using big data technologies (i.e. Spark/Kafka/Cassandra/Hadoop/Hive/Presto/Airflow).

  • Experience in systems design, algorithms, and distributed systems.


Additional Qualifications:


  • Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Experience in implementing CI/CD pipeline.
